Recap of last two Sundays: Distilling our missional action

For 2008, the nu.crew will narrow its focus on these opportunities to make the love of Jesus known to those in need:

  • Global: Bryn Gillette and Divine Ministries in Hope for Children, Haiti
    • Goal #1 – To commit a regularly-timed (monthly, quarterly, etc.) group donation to the orphans.
    • Goal #2 – To look into the possibility of purchasing a painting to benefit the orphans.
    • Goal #3 – To entertain the possibility of sending members of the crew on a missions trip to Haiti sometime this year.
  • Local: The Burlington Emergency Shelter
    • Goal #1 – To supply meals to the shelter on a semi-regular basis.
    • Goal #2 – To supply wish-list items or other financial donations.
    • Goal #3 – To pursue other means of support.
  • Relational: Our Somali friends and Rosie the Starbucks lady!
    • Goal #1 – To invest relationally in these folks with our time, kindness, and encouragement.
    • Goal #2 – To help meet their physical needs in order to bless them.

At any rate, I think there is room for other ideas on the local level – Cassie and Buck seem to have great input here. Also, let’s see if we can fill up Rosie’s coffee card on a regular basis and donate any old clothes to the Somali crew. And if you want to donate to my personal Red Bull fund, that would also be appreciated.
