So basically, it has become obvious to me that we are no longer riding Luke switch - instead, we are fully freestyling through this Gospel. Around Thanksgiving, we checked out the last few chapters to better understand the death and resurrection of Jesus. Around Christmas, we checked out the first few chapters to better understand the birth of Jesus. And in January, my plan is to tackle several topics from the life and teaching of Jesus that will help us to be better disciples in this brand new year.
Our first topic pertains to Jesus’ interactions with a group of men called the Pharisees.
Read the following passages:
Luke 6:1-11
Luke 11:37-12:3
Luke 18:9-14
So as you read, ask yourself, “What was the deal with these Pharisees? Why did Jesus respond to them the way that he did? What made them hypocrites? What is spiritual hypocrisy, and how does that affect my life?”
