Ah, first posts. I’ve done a lot of these, sometimes followed by a second post, rarely by a third. Blogging has never been a successful endeavor for me. Nuance will be a different story.

It will be different because it isn’t just me. The nu is a collective, a conversation among people following Christ in Burlington, VT, people hoping that an authentic and relevant expression of this faith can impact our little urban center. We are nothing, but God is big. We presume nothing, but dream much.

We have come to the realization that unless the truth is contextualized it will be marginalized. Our city and surroundings are filled with marginalized expressions of the Christian faith – I don’t mean apostate or heretical expressions (we’ve got that, too), but irrelevant expressions. Despite this observation, we are not starting a new “church” at this point, just having a conversation, studying the scriptures, being who we are in culture.

Our interest is merely to discover how best to follow Jesus in our time and place. We want to know Him. We want to hear Him. We want to impact our community with His gospel of hope.
